If you are traveling from outside the local area, we suggest you plan to arrive by Saturday, October 6th so you can have time to relax, review the initial running stages of the course and plan any last minute strategies, attend the expo, pick up your race packet, and attend the Pre-race Dinner.

The Expo, Packet Pickup, and Pre-race Dinner are at the Toftrees Golf Resort & Conference Center, located at One Country Club Lane in State College, about 10 minutes via bypass from SR322 & Bear Meadows Road, where the race starts and finishes. The Toftrees phone number is 814-234-8000.Toftrees also has a block of rooms reserved at a special rate for race participants.The block is only reserved through Sept. 16, so be sure to make your reservation as early as possible.

Merchandise Expo

An Expo of mOUnTaiNBACK and other fitness manufacturers gear will be set up at Toftrees Golf Resort & Conference Center on Saturday, October 6th at the packet pickup from 5:00pm-8:00pm. See Pre-Race Check-In below for directions. Our gear will also be available at the post-race party.  Merchandise will include various Mountainback items (see the Mountainback Store), along with several other vendors (TBA). 100% of proceeds from sales support Jana Marie Foundation.

Advance Packet Pick-Up and Dropbag Drop-off

The Packet Pickup and Dropbag Drop-off, as welll as the Expo and Pre-race Dinner, are at the Toftrees Golf Resort & Conference Center, located at One Country Club Lane in State College, about 10 minutes via bypass from SR322 & Bear Meadows Road, where the race starts and finishes. The Toftrees phone number is 814-234-8000. Participants can pick up race packets and drop off drop-bags between 5:00pm-8:00pm the evening before the race at Toftrees. (Race day check-in and packet pickup will also occur at the race site).

PRE-RACE DINNER: A highlight of the race weekend, the Tussey mOUnTaiNBACK Pre-race Dinner on Oct. 6, 2018 will feature remarks by three amazing individuals: Keely Henninger, a smiling, trail-blazing runner (also a Penn State alum), recently won the Lake Sonoma 50 Miler among other impressive accomplishments. George Etzweiler, the 97-years-young captain of The Old Men of the Mountains relay team, inspires anyone who hears him. Samantha Ream Haas, representing our event's beneficiary, Team Ream Foundation, will describe the difference we can make for local families facing a major medical crisis. You can reserve your dinner seats when you register, or RSVP via email (use subject PRE-RACE DINNER) to info@tusseymountainback.com. RSVP now - seating is limited!

The mOUnTaiNBACK's Pre-race Dinner has become a highlight of the race weekend.  The dinner is on Saturday October 6th from 6:30pm-8:00pm and is available to all participants and their crews.

The dinner program will also include a short video from the 2017 race.

Menu: An all-you-can-eat dinner buffet, which includes tossed green and Caesar salad, chicken breasts, choice of two pastas and three sauces (marinara, meat sauce, alfredo), vegetable of the day, rolls, coffee, tea, water, and assorted desserts, including tiramisu. Price: $18. 

Reserve Your Place: You can sign up for dinner when you register, or pay separately. Checks may be sent to MTB50, 103 E. Hamilton Ave., State College, PA 16801. You may also pay at the door, but to ensure an accurate food count you will need to let us know via phone (814-238-5918) or e-mail no later than 
Sunday, September 30th if you plan to attend the dinner.
