2008 Beneficiary: Centre Volunteers in Medicine

Proceeds from the 2008 mOUnTaiNBACK will support Centre Volunteers in Medicine, a local nonprofit initiative whose primary mission is serve the health and wellness needs of uninsured residents of Centre County. CVIM provides access to free primary and preventive medical and dental care to residents of the county that meet certain eligibility criteria. In addition, CVIM provides referrals to specialists as necessary and makes referrals to other social services for which CVIM patients might qualify. "From the moment a neighbor enters our front door to the end of their visit, they are treated with the utmost respect and dignity."

Race registration is set up to enable participants registering for the race to also make – and invite friends, family and colleagues to make - a donation to CVIM on behalf of them, either as an individual runner or as a member of a registered relay team. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams and individuals raising the most funds.
